Flowers!

Last week in class we saw photos of flowers that had been shot as art pieces. Here I have shot a coupe of images of flowers that were given to my wife for Valentines Day. Typical shots to say the least. However, when we were discussing color as it relates to objects in the image notice the color shifts in the three images at the top. The three photos of the same flower are done to illustrate how light position can alter color and definition.

When you say "light position," do you mean the light source? As in: the light comes from above in one photo, then from the right in another, the left in another, and maybe even the bottom. Or did you did you do the first 3 in photoshop?
And what did you use for the black background? Black sheet or paper, etc?
